Benefits of Breathing Properly: Chiropractic Care Reduces Stress

Deep breathing - Dr. Lukas - Core Chiropractic.

Properly breathing decreases the risk of disease & improves immune system strength!

Many people are “shallow breathers” as a reaction to environmental stressors. Breathing in a shallow way keeps the body in a cyclical state of stress; stress causing shallow breathing and shallow breathing causing stress. This activates the sympathetic nervous system which keeps the body in constant “fight or flight” mode.

Long term shallow breathing can have serious health consequences. Working on proper breathing techniques will calm the sympathetic nervous system and keep you less susceptible to illness and disease.

Not only that but other benefits of bringing attention to your breathing include:

✅Reduce stress levels in your body
✅Lower your heart rate
✅Lower your blood pressure
✅Improve diabetic symptoms
✅Reduce depression
✅Better manage chronic pain
✅Better regulate your body’s reaction to stress and fatigue

Benefits of regular Chiropractic Care: Reduce stress & facilitate relaxation in your body

It’s important to note that chiropractic adjustments will help reduce the stress on your nervous system and facilitate relaxation in the body which will allow you to take less breaths per minute. Practicing proper breathing techniques AND getting adjusted regularly are 2 of the best things you can be doing for your health right now.

“Sitting is the new smoking.” We’ve all heard this for awhile now. With the current Shelter-in-Place / work from home “WFH” order, we are sitting now more than ever. As people become immobile, people see less, hear less, process less information, and brains begin to atrophy from lack of stimulation. Chiropractic Adjustments are proven to reduce stress, increase health, increase immunity and open up the pathways for the brain and spinal cord to send messages to organs. A stimulated brain is powerful. “90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by movement of the spine.” This is comparable to a windmill generating electricity.

Dangers of Too Much Sitting: Shelter in Place & WFH

Due to the current Shelter in Place order, people are now working from home “WFH” and sitting more now than ever.  📺📱💻

Research has linked sitting for prolonged periods of time with a number of health concerns including obesity, high blood pressure, excess body fat around the waist, abnormal cholesterol levels, premature death and also increased risk of chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart disease and some cancers. Chiropractic Care can help with all of these concerns. Call Dr. Tyler of Core Chiropractic located in Costa Mesa, CA today to schedule an appointment 949-662-1616.

“As people become immobile, they see less, hear less and process less information, and their brains begin to atrophy from lack of stimulation. The neuroplastic systems require physical movement to generate new cells and nerve growth factor. - Norman Doidge, MD, author of The Brain’s Way of Healing

It’s so important to be conscious of your sedentary time, especially now that you are home more. Tips to be more active: (1) Limit your TV time. (2) Get up every 30 minutes, stretch and walk. (3) Use a standing desk or make your own standing desk station at home while WFH. (4) Practice active sitting by placing your chair with a ball to balance. (5) Get fresh air! Take a walk or do some sort of exercise outside.

Only about 1 in 5 adults/ teens get enough exercise to maintain good health. It is recommended to get around 150 minutes of heart-pumping physical activity each week.🚴🏋️‍♀️🏊‍♂️ What is the key activity you can do to improve your health the most? Get regular Chiropractic Adjustments! Constant sitting while WFH is putting an enormous amount of stress on nervous system which is causing postural distortions and negatively impacting the brain. 🧠

Where does your brain get its power?

“90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the movement of the spine. This would be analogous to a windmill generating electricity.” -Dr. Roger Sperry, M.D., Nobel Prize Recipient for Brain Research.

A Chiropractic Adjustment facilitates proper movement of the spine, reducing the stress on your nervous system and “turning on the power” to your brain. It restores your posture and ensures that your nervous system is functioning optimally, which is going to help keep you healthy. 💯
